Fined $13,000 by New York State For Not Marrying Homosexuals, Christian Farmers Are Fighting Back Against ‘Discrimination’ Ruling

DailySignal.com:
A couple who declined to allow a same-sex wedding ceremony on their family farm in upstate New York filed an appeal today that their attorney says will challenge “every facet” of a recent discrimination ruling against them.

In September 2012, a lesbian couple approached Cynthia and Robert Gifford about holding their wedding on the Giffords’ Liberty Ridge Farm. The Giffords, who both grew up in Clifton Park, N.Y., declined, citing their religious beliefs that marriage is between one man and one woman.

Because Liberty Ridge Farm is open to the public for seasonal activities, such as its annual fall festival, the state of New York classifies it as a public accommodation that cannot discriminate on the basis of certain personal characteristics, including sexual orientation.

The lesbian couple, who recorded a telephone conversation with Cynthia Gifford, complained to the New York State Division of Human Rights, which is specifically chartered to prohibit “discrimination” based upon sexual orientation, among other characteristics.

In July, an administrative law judge found the Giffords had discriminated against the couple and ordered fines totaling $13,000—$1,500 mental anguish fine to each of the women and a $10,000 civil damages penalty to the state.
Once again, the powerful, perverted, white, Godless and rich Gay Mafia is targeting Christian business owners around the country and forcing their choice of hedonism down religious people throats. Thanks to Godless Gov. Mario Cuomo, these two dykes could've had their choice to be "married" in hundreds of places around the state. But because they're so evil and vindictive, they specifically targeted the Christian Liberty Ridge Farm, forced them to choose between God's word and man's, knew they'd say no and went ahead and sued them because they're also ugly, miserable and have nothing else better to do then destroy the lives of law-abiding Christians. Sad, indeed.

Meriam Ibrahim, Christian Woman Sentenced to Death for Apostasy, Is Freed From Prison

Townhall.com:
No doubt today is a joyous one for Meriam Ibrahim and her young family, along with the countless human rights activists and government officials from across the globe who worked to bring her home. For months this young Christian mother languished -- and was chained down -- in a Sudanese prison with her infant child for apostasy. (She was pregnant at the time of her incarceration, too, and later delivered a second baby while in prison).

It didn’t matter that she was raised in a Christian home or that she herself was a disciple of Christ. These facts were completely irrelevant to her oppressors. Under Islamic Shariah law, her father was a Muslim and therefore she was too -- even though he abandoned her family when she was just a child. Nevertheless, when the authorities learned of her non-Islamic faith, her marriage to her Christian husband was annulled. She was was later sentenced to death and imprisoned upon refusing to renounce her Christian faith.

Of course, none of these details matter a whole lot at the moment. What matters is that at long last, Ibrahim is reunited with her family -- and finally free:
A Sudanese appeal court freed Meriam Yehia Ibrahim and canceled the death sentence she received after refusing to recant her Christian faith, her lawyer said.

Ibrahim, 27, was released from jail today and is now with her husband, Daniel Wani, one of her lawyers, Elshareef Ali, said by phone from the capital, Khartoum.
Ibrahim was sentenced to death by hanging by a Sudanese court last month in a case that sparked condemnation from governments including the U.S. and U.K. as well as rights groups such as Amnesty International. Sudan’s government said it wouldn’t interfere in the decisions of the judiciary.
“This is a victory the Sudanese constitution and for freedom of faith in Sudan,” Ali said. “The court canceled all the decisions taken against her, including annulling the marriage and the adultery conviction. She is now free to go anywhere.”

SunTrust Banks Fights Back Against Liberal Terrorism and Reverses Decision On Conservative Benham Brothers

A rare victory for Christian conservatives living in Barack Obama's Godless America:
After an uproar from conservative customers, SunTrust Banks announced Friday afternoon that the decision to end its relationship with real estate entrepreneurs David and Jason Benham had been reversed.

Earlier Friday, The Daily Caller reported that SunTrust Banks had pulled all of its listed properties with the Benham brothers’ bank-owned property business.

The move came just a week after HGTV announced it was canceling a planned home renovation show hosted by the Benhams because of their conservative views on abortion and gay marriage.

By Friday afternoon, SunTrust released a statement saying the decision had been reversed. The bank didn’t go into detail about why they originally cut ties with the Benham brothers, though SunTrust said the decision was made by a third party vendor. TheDC reported earlier Friday that the vendor had told a Benham Brothers franchisee that the bank itself made the decision.

“We clarified our policies with our vendor and they have reinstated the listings with Benham Real Estate,” SunTrust spokeswoman Beth McKenna said.

“Mid-2013, we consolidated the management of certain residential assets with a third party vendor, which has the relationship with Benham Real Estate,” McKenna added. “While we do not publicly comment on specific vendor relationships, we don’t make choices on suppliers nor base business decisions on political factors, nor do we direct our third party vendors to do so.”

Added McKenna: “SunTrust supports the rights of all Americans to fully exercise their freedoms granted under the Constitution, including those with respect to free speech and freedom of religion.”

After publication of TheDC’s story earlier Friday, conservatives expressed outrage at the bank.
“SunTrust Banks appears to have punished David and Jason Benham by taking action against their business purely based on their Christian beliefs,” said Chris Stone, the founder of Faith Driven Consumer. “This sends a loud and clear message to people of faith in America, you’re not welcome at SunTrust, take your business somewhere else.”

Pregnant Christian Woman in Sudan Sentenced to Death for Faith

No worldwide outrage from white liberals here:
Hours after a Sudanese court sentenced his pregnant wife to death when she refused to recant her Christian faith, her husband told CNN he feels helpless.

"I'm so frustrated. I don't know what to do," Daniel Wani told CNN on Thursday. "I'm just praying."

This week a Khartoum court convicted his wife, Meriam Yehya Ibrahim, 27, of apostasy, or the renunciation of faith.

Ibrahim is Christian, her husband said. But the court considers her to be Muslim.

The court also convicted her of adultery and sentenced her to 100 lashes because her marriage to a Christian man is considered void under Sharia law.

The court gave her until Thursday to recant her Christian faith -- something she refused to do, according to her lawyer.

During Thursday's sentencing hearing, a sheikh told the court "how dangerous a crime like this is to Islam and the Islamic community," said attorney Mohamed Jar Elnabi, who's representing Ibrahim.

"I am a Christian," Ibrahim fired back, "and I will remain a Christian."

Her legal team says it plans to appeal the verdict, which drew swift condemnation from human rights organizations around the world.

In the meantime, Ibrahim, who is eight months' pregnant, remains in prison with her 20-month-old son.

"She is very strong and very firm. She is very clear that she is a Christian and that she will get out one day," Elnabi told CNN from Sudan.
